Overview:
This project involved designing and developing a comprehensive finance system for an insurance brokerage that manages partner payments. The system was created to streamline financial processes, automate transactions, and improve overall financial transparency. The goal was to provide an intuitive, secure, and efficient platform that supports the brokerage’s payroll system and partner commission structures.
My Role:
As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for crafting a user-centered interface that caters to internal staff and the processing of external partners’ payments. I worked closely with stakeholders, including finance managers and EXCO and CEO’s, to design a system that met complex requirements such as bulk resets, invoicing, voucher payments, an integration with a large finance house, value-added products tracking, and reporting. My role involved designing the user interface, creating wireframes and prototypes, documenting and compiling the BRD for the whole project and ensuring the overall user experience was optimized for ease of use, while aligning with security and financial regulations.
Key Features:
Partner Commission Tracking:
Designed an intuitive interface that allows the tracking of partner commissions in real-time. The system calculates commission based on predefined terms and conditions.
Streamlined Payment Processing:
Integrated automated payment systems to streamline partner commissions. The second feature within this area is the bulk resets functionality which includes complex reporting and multiple-date-specific debit rulesets.
Financial Reporting & Analytics:
Incorporated advanced reporting tools in the form of three defined history reports that allow finance teams to view partner, dealership and client specific details.
Secure User Access & Roles:
Implemented role-based access control, ensuring that staff and partners only have access to relevant information based on their roles.
Challenges & Solutions:
Complex User Roles:
One of the challenges was managing the differing needs of internal staff. I worked closely with stakeholders to define clear role-based access and ensure that the user interface reflected the specific requirements of each user group.
Data Security & Compliance:
Given the sensitive financial nature of the system, ensuring robust security protocols was critical. I collaborated with the development team to implement multiple security measures.
